As of July 28 2008, I have no presence at Digital Point. Why? I was banned for posting duplicate threads. The moderators claimed that I was spamming the same offer (posting one offer a day). However, I feel that I was wrongly banned, because 1) the rules for the buy/sell forum are not specific on the subject and 2) I had absolutely no warning. Apparently, the moderators at Digital Point looked into my history to find things I had done wrong, and decided to give me seven (7) infractions for the same thing, “duplicate threads.” I was not aware that there were rules against posting offers daily, as I’d seen many others do it (that are not banned). What I really think was horrible is the fact that they didn’t give me a warning and tell me what I was doing wrong, they just went ahead and added seven infractions to my account… did I break the rules? I suppose so. Did I know that I was breaking the rules? No, I did not. You would think that if the moderators at Digital Point didn’t want people posting offers every day, they would set a specific time limit. Everyone has different views on what is considered spamming and what isn’t (I’m guessing this ties along with spamming, because of the duplicate threads and such).
I am proud to announce that Addictive Hosting now makes nightly back-ups of all data. This will benefit both the customers and ourselves — seeing as how 1) our customers’ data is now recoverable, and 2) our customers feel a higher level of safety.
